About the Role
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of all mechanical systems across the
complex.
• Manage and monitor HVAC systems including chillers, chilled water pumps, condenser
water systems, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, pressurization systems, extract and fresh air
systems, and associated controls.
• Manage mechanical services including domestic water systems, booster pumps, water
storage tanks, drainage, sewage, stormwater, irrigation, and plumbing infrastructure.
• Ensure all mechanical assets are maintained in accordance with PPM schedules, statutory
requirements, OEM recommendations, and site-specific operational procedures.
• Respond to and support the resolution of mechanical faults, breakdowns, leaks, pressure
issues, HVAC failures, and emergency incidents in a timely and structured manner.
• Conduct routine inspections, performance checks, condition assessments, and system
testing of mechanical plant and equipment.
• Review asset performance trends and identify recurring issues, root causes, and
opportunities for reliability improvement and lifecycle planning.
• Support the planning and execution of shutdowns, seasonal maintenance, upgrades,
refurbishments, retrofits, and mechanical improvement projects.
• Review and supervise specialist contractors and service providers carrying out HVAC,
plumbing, and mechanical maintenance or project works.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with HSE requirements, permit-to-work
procedures, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, inspection reports, asset condition
updates, and performance summaries.
• Coordinate closely with Electrical, ELV, BMS, Fire & Life Safety, Civil, and Security teams to
ensure integrated service delivery across the site.
• Support energy efficiency initiatives through optimization of HVAC operation, set points,
scheduling, balancing, and system performance.
• Monitor and support BMS-linked mechanical systems to ensure alarms, controls, and
operational sequences are functioning effectively.
• Maintain strict adherence to access control, permit-to-work, and security clearance
procedures applicable to the complex.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in Facilities
Management, property management, infrastructure, healthcare, hospitality, government, or
other critical environments.
• Strong experience in HVAC systems, central plant equipment, chilled water systems, pumps,
ventilation systems, plumbing, drainage, and associated building services infrastructure.
• Proven experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, fault finding, system
diagnostics, and contractor supervision.
• Good knowledge of mechanical / building services standards, HSE compliance, statutory
maintenance obligations, and asset management practices.
• Experience reviewing technical submittals, method statements, inspection reports, and
service provider deliverables.
• Proficient in preparing maintenance documentation, technical evaluations, reports, and
performance updates.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a structured, confidential, and highly regulated environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience with BMS / CAFM systems.
• Knowledge of emergency response, resilience planning, and business continuity in critical
facilities.
• Previous GCC experience preferred.
