ELV Engineer – (Facilities Management)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of all ELV systems across the complex.
• Manage and monitor systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion alarm, intercom,
structured cabling, public address / voice alarm (PAVA), fire alarm interfaces, BMS
interfaces, gate barriers, ANPR, IPTV / SMATV, AV systems, and other low-current
infrastructure as applicable.
• Ensure all ELV assets and systems are maintained in accordance with PPM schedules,
statutory requirements, OEM recommendations, and site-specific operational procedures.
• Respond to and support the resolution of ELV faults, communication failures, controller
issues, field device alarms, and emergency incidents in a timely and structured manner.
• Conduct routine inspections, testing, health checks, and condition assessments of ELV
systems, devices, network cabinets, field panels, and associated infrastructure.
• Review system alarms, event logs, reports, and recurring failures to identify root causes and
implement long-term corrective actions.
• Support the planning and execution of shutdowns, upgrades, software / firmware updates,
expansions, retrofits, and ELV improvement projects.
• Review and supervise specialist contractors and service providers carrying out ELV
maintenance, programming, testing, and project works.
• Ensure proper coordination and interface between ELV systems and related disciplines
including Security, Fire & Life Safety, BMS, ICT, Electrical, and Mechanical systems.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with HSE requirements, permit-to-work
procedures, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, testing reports, incident summaries, and
system performance updates.
• Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews related to security systems, life safety
interfaces, and critical infrastructure.
• Monitor spare parts, system licensing, backups, configuration records, and documentation
required for continuity of operations.
• Support operational resilience by ensuring high availability of critical ELV and securityrelated systems.
• Maintain strict adherence to access control, permit-to-work, cybersecurity awareness, and
security clearance procedures applicable to the complex.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communication
Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in ELV / low-current systems engineering, with at least 3
years in Facilities Management, property management, infrastructure, data centers,
airports, healthcare, government, or other critical environments.
• Strong experience in CCTV, access control, structured cabling, PAVA, intercom, AV, ELV
integration, and associated field devices and controllers.
• Good working knowledge of system architecture, field troubleshooting, integration logic,
preventive and corrective maintenance, and fault diagnosis.
• Experience with security systems, control panels, networked devices, and coordination with
specialist vendors and integrators.
• Good knowledge of relevant standards, HSE compliance, statutory maintenance
requirements, and operational documentation.
• Experience reviewing technical submittals, method statements, test reports, and service
provider deliverables.
• Proficient in preparing maintenance documentation, technical evaluations, reports, and
performance updates.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a structured, confidential, and highly regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering
• Experience with BMS / CAFM systems and ELV system integration in complex buildings.
• Knowledge of emergency response, resilience planning, and business continuity in critical
facilities.
• Previous GCC experience preferred.
