About the Role
Role and Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough examination of tender documents, identifying discrepancies and preparing technical clarification letters for the Consultant.
Prepare detailed budget estimates.
Execute accurate and comprehensive quantity take-offs.
Develop subcontract bid documents.
Perform technical and commercial evaluations of subcontractor quotations and negotiate with subcontractors.
Facilitate interactions with departmental staff.
Assess material and manpower requirements for project execution.
Implement cost control measures across projects.
Identify, prepare, and manage variations and monthly valuations for ongoing projects.
Verify subcontractor variations and payment certificates.
Participate in site visits and evaluate site conditions relevant to tenders.
Candidate Profile:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, accompanied by a minimum of ten years of experience in estimating and preparing Bills of Quantities or in Contract Administration for major civil, commercial, residential, high-rise, and industrial projects.
Extensive experience with reputable contracting firms within the UAE, with a specific requirement for experience in high-rise buildings.
Proficient understanding of various measurement methods and cost analysis techniques.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in standard software applications such as Excel, Word, MS Project, and industry-specific estimating software.
Comprehensive knowledge of contract principles, with the ability to identify and rectify deviations or deficiencies in contracts.
Familiarity with standard construction contract language, procedures, claims, variations, and related correspondence.
Exceptional written communication skills.
Capability to collaborate effectively within a diverse multicultural workforce.
Flexibility to adapt to either site-based or Head Office-based team environments.
