About the Role
Role and Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate organisational, staffing, and operational activities for district warehouses and stores.
Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the organisation.
Direct and review the work plans for assigned personnel.
Implement appropriate safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe conditions.
Monitor material usage in storerooms and warehouses.
Assist in optimising warehouse space utilisation by designing facility layouts that achieve maximum storage efficiency.
Develop delivery schedules and strategies for drop shipments.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of inventory usage.
Meet with staff to identify and resolve issues.
Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel.
Implement disciplinary actions and termination procedures when necessary.
Prepare and present reports on staff performance and other relevant correspondence.
Coordinate warehousing and storeroom activities with external agencies and organisations.
Explore new trends and innovations in warehousing and storage programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
A bachelor’s degree or a diploma in supply chain management, business, or industrial engineering is required.
A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience within the construction industry is essential.
Proficient decision-making skills are necessary to evaluate the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and determine optimal solutions.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are critical for effective negotiation with carriers, suppliers, customs brokers, and customers.
The ability to identify performance measures or indicators relevant to the system's goals is essential.
Candidates must demonstrate an aptitude for identifying complex problems and analysing related information to develop and evaluate solutions.
Knowledge of logical reasoning is required to assess the strengths and weaknesses of various alternative solutions or approaches to challenges.
